Food grade silicone tubing for fermentation, distilling, and liquid transfers.
Fits standard 10mm barb fittings found on fermenters, funnels, chillers, and
temperature equipment.

Heat-resistant to 200°C+. Won't leach plasticizers like vinyl. Works for blow-off
tubes, carboy transfers, gravity feeding, or connecting equipment.

Essential consumable for any fermentation or distilling setup.

Key Features

- Food-grade silicone – Safe for spirits, beer, water, glycol
- Fits 10mm barbs – Works with most fermenter taps, funnels, chillers
- Heat resistant – Safe to 200°C+; handles warm transfers
- Won't leach plasticizers – Better than vinyl for spirits/distilling
- Flexible and soft – Easy to connect, remove, and reuse
- 2 meters long – Enough for multiple connections or full blow-off setup
- Affordable – Under $10 for 2m roll

Use Cases / Applications

- Blow-off tube from fermenter airlock during active fermentation
- Transfer tube for gravity-feeding from funnel to carboy
- Carboy-to-carboy racking (paired with auto-siphon)
- Connecting fermenter tap to bucket for bottling
- Temperature probe connections (thermowell to external controller)
- Glycol chiller inlet/outlet (cooling coils)
- Still condenser inlet/outlet (non-pressurized)
- Connect to bottling equipment barbs
- Spare tubing (always good to have extra on hand)

Compatibility / Works With

Works with:
- All fermenters with 10mm barb fittings
- Standard fermenter taps
- Funnels with 10mm outlet (funnel + tubing bottling)
- Glycol chillers (G20, G40, IceMaster)
- Temperature probe connections (thermowell bulkhead to controller)
- Still condenser connections (non-pressurized setups)
- Any equipment with 10mm male or female barbs

Clamps Needed:
- 16.5mm stepless hose clamps (suit 14–16mm OD)
- 2–4 clamps per connection (one at each end, or double-clamped for security)

Does NOT Work With:
- Higher-pressure connections (above 20 psi)
- Mains water pressure
- Very hot liquids (above 200°C)
- Non-food-grade solvents (may degrade)

FAQ

Q: What size clamps do I need?
A: 16.5mm stepless clamps. They suit 14–16mm OD tubing. Buy 2–4 clamps
(one or two per connection).

Q: Can I use this for spirits/distilling?
A: Yes. Food-grade silicone won't leach plasticizers like vinyl tubing.
This is the better choice for distilling.

Q: Is this the same as vinyl tubing?
A: No. Silicone is food-grade, heat-resistant, and safe for spirits.
Vinyl tubing is cheaper but can leach plasticizers.

Q: How do I attach it to a barb?
A: Warm the tubing under hot water for 5 seconds (softens it), then
slide onto the barb. Tighten a clamp around the tubing to secure.

Q: Will 2m be enough?
A: Depends on your setup. A simple blow-off tube needs 0.5–1m. Multiple
connections might use the full 2m. Buy extra if uncertain.

Q: Can I reuse it?
A: Yes, many times. Just clean it after each use and air dry. It will
eventually crack from UV or age; replace when it does.

Q: Is it food-grade?
A: Yes. Food-grade silicone, safe for water, beer, spirits, and glycol.

Q: What's the maximum temperature?
A: Safe to 200°C continuous. Don't use for boiling water or direct heat.

Q: Does it work with different sized barbs?
A: This fits 10mm barbs. If your equipment has different-sized barbs
(8mm, 12mm), you need different tubing sizes.

Q: How long does it last?
A: Many fermentations/transfers if cared for. Eventually cracks from
UV exposure or age; replace when damaged.

Instructions

CONNECTING TO A BARB:

1. Clean the barb (remove dust/dried yeast)
2. Warm the tubing under hot running water for 5 seconds (softens silicone)
3. Slide the tubing onto the barb with a gentle twisting motion
4. Push until tubing is flush with the barb base
5. Tighten a 16.5mm hose clamp around the tubing where it meets the barb
6. Done

USING AS A BLOW-OFF TUBE:

1. Attach one end to the airlock outlet (if using blow-off mode)
2. Run the tubing into a jar or bucket of sanitizer solution
3. The tube should be submerged just below the surface
4. CO₂ bubbles will escape through the sanitizer
5. After fermentation ends, disconnect and clean

GRAVITY TRANSFER FROM FUNNEL:

1. Attach tubing to the outlet of your funnel
2. Run the tubing into your carboy/fermenter
3. Pour liquid through the funnel
4. Liquid flows through tubing into vessel without splashing
5. Great for bottling or racking

CARING FOR YOUR TUBING:

- Rinse immediately after use (don't let yeast dry on)
- Soak in warm water if residue is stuck
- Air dry completely before storing
- Store away from direct sunlight (UV degrades silicone over time)
- Reuse multiple times until it cracks or becomes brittle

Care & Maintenance

AFTER EACH USE:
1. Disconnect from both ends
2. Rinse with warm water immediately
3. Soak in warm water for 5 minutes if yeast/sediment is stuck
4. Use a soft brush or bottle brush to clean inside the tube
5. Rinse again until water runs clear
6. Hang to air dry (vertical is best; lets water drain)
7. Store dry before reusing

STORAGE:
- Keep completely dry
- Store away from direct sunlight (UV degrades silicone)
- Don't store under tension (don't wrap too tightly around other items)
- Keep in cool place
- 2m roll stores in a coil; don't kink tightly

LIFESPAN:
- Expected: 20+ uses if cared for
- Will eventually crack from age, UV exposure, or repeated use
- Replace when cracks develop (could cause contamination)
- Cost is low enough that replacement is no big deal

CLEANING:
- Don't use bleach on silicone (can degrade it)
- Warm soapy water or One-Step cleaner works well
- For stubborn buildup: soak overnight in hot PBW or One-Step
- Air dry completely
